Included are a letterbook of correspondence, 1865-1869, to Secretaries of State William H. Seward and Hamilton Fish; business and financial letters to his brother George H. Page relating to the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company; letters to George from Charles' widow, Mrs. Grace Coues Page, as a stockholder in the company; a genealogy of the Page family; and Page's 1869 pamphlet entitled "The Naturalization Question."

William Henry Seward was born in Florida, Orange County, New York, on May 16, 1801. He was the son of Samuel S. Seward and Mary (Jennings) Seward. He graduated from Union College in 1820, studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1822. In 1823, he moved to Auburn, New York, where he entered Judge Elijah Miller's law office.
